Presentation abstract

GLOBAL OPEN INNOVATION

The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology is the largest national research institute in Japan. Its history dates back to the Geological Survey Laboratory about 130 years ago and has played the role of strengthening the competitiveness of domestic industries. However, in the era of current open innovation, internationalization  of national laboratories is essential, including domestic companies to internationalize.
Even if the role of the National Institute on strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic industry remains unchanged, reform is required to realize its function.
Our  Institute  also intends to contribute to the participation of Japanese companies in global innovation and the dissemination of original technologies invented in Japan through collaboration with global open research institutes such as imec.
