Presentation abstract

IOT - A KEY ENABLER FOR SMART CITIES

IoT is a key technology enabler for Smart Cities. A large range of IoT connectivity solutions are already available and more are to come in the near future. First phase of IoT has mainly focused on low cost & low power devices for latency tolerant use cases such as; metering, tracking and other simple sensing/actuation. We foresee that next step in IoT for Smart Cities will include rautonomous vehicles: self driving cars, drones and potential new type of robotic vehicles in the street picture. The presentation will give a short overview of the connectivity technologies for the various IoT use cases for smart cities.
